The Panthers have made their plans official for late September and early October.
Florida begins it’s preseason festivities with a double header on September 24th versus the Nashville Predators. According to FloridaPanthers.com, the double dose of hockey in Sunrise coincides with Hockey Day in South Florida.
The Panthers will then travel down to their farm when they head to San Antonio to play Texas’ lone NHL team, the Dallas Stars, four days later in the squads first of two back-to-back preseason matchups, the second of which will take place on September 29th in Dallas.
The Panthers then finish their preseason schedule out with a trifecta of games against their Floridian rivals, the Lightning. The first game of the baseball-eqsue series will be played in Estero, Florida at Germain Arena, the home of the ECHL’s Florida Everblades. The Everblades are the AA affiliate of Tampa Bay and the Carolina Hurricanes.
“We have put together a great preseason schedule that gives our fans numerous chances to see our team play and practice in South Florida, as well as an exhibition game on Florida’s west coast,” said Executive VP & General Manager Dale Tallon told the team’s website. “The schedule gives our coaching staff ample time to prepare our players for the start of the regular season and provides our club with the opportunity to play a game in the home of our American Hockey League affiliate.”
